This is an idea someone had. I want feedback for that person, if we see there is a demand we will tell them.

These things make me, me.: Visalia, CA →
lydiaisradical:
Being in this town for about 10 minutes and I can already tell so much, and there is so much to be told about this town. As you drive into downtown you get a sense of late night elegance, a classic “night on the town”, the shops seem right out of a magazine, the restaurants, boutiques, banks,…

5 held in Visalia walnut heist attempt →
Now this is the kind of news you would expect to hear from a town like Visalia.
You asked so I clicked around a little.
Like I was saying. I clicked around in the features, and gave you a place to share and gripe. If you feel so inclined to be encouraging I will question your motives.

Occupy Visalia
We had our first meeting tonight, it went well and these upstanding tax paying citizens are pretty well educated on why they felt compeled to take action and seek a connection with anyone willing to listen. I was pleased.
Occupy Visalia has a permit. →
I hope to see you there.

Man tries to fool police with obituary. →
“He faked his obituary. He has his family and friends calling us from all over the city telling us he’s not dead and should be in jail,” said Visalia police Sgt. Randy Lentzner.

Atwater, CA: Second UFO reported in four days →
“The falling red light diverted course drastically and began ascending and descending back and forth in rapid succession, all the while continuously changing color and shape,” the witness stated. “The colors varied, first red, then gold and green and possibly even blue. The object transitioned from one color to another with absolute fluidity.”

Woman loses control of Prius on freeway in west... →
A woman suffered minor injuries at about 10:20 a.m. Monday after she lost control of her Prius and went on a wild ride down a steep freeway embankment in west Visalia, across Highway 198 and up the south embankment.
Second bad female driver in 24hrs. Toyota asked everyone a while ago to bring in their cars for a free tune up to solve this problem last year I think.

Driver crashes car into downtown Visalia business;... →
For those of you that don’t know; these curbs they are talking about are at least a full foot, yeah 12in. tall. This is why giant trucks should not be driven by tiny stupid blondes.

Visalia, A Place.
Alas, the fields of thy desert abound; water floweth past your supple loins!
But still your residents subside.
Lost, life does not lament your passing;
You are but a simple phrase, bequeathed unto your fellow man in an uproarious silence:
This is you and yours. Accept it as you will,
And as you will,
Survive.

Visalia's ONE major bookstore is closing.
dez-ray:
Granted it is a Borders, but it was full of books and in a city of 130,000 people where it is the ONLY bookstore„, well.
I don’t think Visalia has a population that can afford to lose its one and only bookstore.
People in this town who use Borders are in the minority. I am not sure what that says about our town. However; the bars and churches do rather well around here.

Why Not to Live in Visalia
Visalia has a somewhat Mediterranean climate, but is more semi-arid (Köppen climate classification Bsh), and receives just enough annual precipitation to stay out of Köppen’s BWh (desert climate) classification. Visalia enjoys plenty of sunshine throughout the year, with an average of only 26 days with measurable precipitation annually.
